Liberty came forth on a wave, literally lol. This piece started as a crashing wave, each mark moving me closer to where a figure began to reveal itself. Where Liberty is grounded to the bottom of the frame, there is a weighted, tied down feeling and a loss of perspective. As the viewer moves upward, you see the liberation, the spreading of her wings in which she moves forward in full acceptance of the body she inhabits.
